Designers for Barack Obama : a selection of 50 posters design

A quinze jours des élections américaines, le candidat Barack Obama est donné favori. Tout au long de sa campagne il a bénéficié d'une communication très maîtrisée, et surtout de nombreux soutiens.

Une multitude d'artistes, reconnus ou non, se sont mobilisés pour apporter leur contribution au candidat démocrate.

De Shepard Fairey à Ron English en passant par les graphistes Frank Chimero et Scott Hansen ou encore le photographe Terry Richardson, tous y sont allé de leur création pour exprimer leurs convictions.

Alors que certains posters se limitent à un portrait agrémenté du slogan officiel -Hope-, d'autres véhicules des idées fortes et s'inspirent des méthodes de propagande pour avoir plus d'impact.

Le volontariat est énorme et les créations artistiques sont même renvendues sur le site officiel de Barack Obama, les fonds récoltés servant à financer la campagne.

J'ai trouvé qu'il était intéressant de réunir tous ces talents qui s'expriment sur une même idée politique, afin de comparer les styles et les interprétations de chacun.

La communauté artistique du monde entier s'est vraiment donnée à fond pour son soutien à cette campagne présidentielle, et je ne parle pas que des graphistes, mais ma question est: qu'en est-il des soutiens à McCain? Il y a certainement eu ce genre de posters dans le clan opposé, mais on en parle pas en Europe?

Mais j'avais la même question que Lio. Obama est très populaire en Europe mais c'est toujours assez serré avec McCain dans les sondages, il doit donc y avoir aussi des soutiens pour le républicain ?

Ca tourne au culte de l'image tout çà... Et puis une telle dévotion artistique me parait louche, çà ne m'étonnerais pas que certains de ces créatifs ne profitent de l'occasion pour se faire de la pub. Mais cela n'enlève rien au pure style de certains ou au talents des autres !

Superbes réa, celle faite uniquement en damier bleu est bluffante, et il y en a vraiment beaucoup d'autres de très réussies.
Clair que c'est bon pour son image. Pas étonnant que les artistes le soutiennent, c'est lui qui a le plus mis en avant ses valeurs humanistes.

In Brazil we don't get this much participation from designers in politics. Actually, I don't think we participate at all. People only do what they are hired for. I guess we need a little more poetry and belief...

Wow très beau panel.. Cela fait plaisir de voir du design graphique servir une cause dans la grande tradition des affichistes. C'est marrant de voir que le style actuel se rapproche parfois de celui du début du graphisme.

certaines affiches claquent vraiment, quand on sait que toute la campagne d'Obama a entièrement été financée grâce à des fonds privés issus de projets comme celui-là... ce qui n'est pas le cas de Mc Cain pour qui la campagne aura couté un bras aux Américains... bravo.
